Marinella Senatore

Jammin' Drama Project

14,00

It is dedicated to the homonymous video by Marinella Senatore, an Italian artist with an international profile. Through a tight narrative rhythm built with the author, the book documents a participatory project that involved more than 500 citizens of the Hispanic and Afro-American community in Harlem, New York. The artist created a video involving participants who followed every step of the process. Filmed in cinéma vérité style, it tells several stories, each articulated and observed from different points of view. Texts by Maria Grazia Bellisario, Beatrice Merz, Ludovico Pratesi and a conversation between Angela Tecce and Marinella Senatore punctuate the book's rhythm and accompany the reader on a discovery of a multifaceted collage of places, figures and landscapes.

This volume was produced as part of the second edition of the initiative Museo Chiama Artista, born of the common intent of the architecture and contemporary art service of the PaBAAC – General Directorate for the Landscape, Fine Arts, Architecture and Contemporary Art of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism and AMACI – Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums, to support the contemporary art system by commissioning new works from Italian artists to be exhibited in the AMACI museum network.
