Kòmos

“I paint puppeteers who perform for a few spectators in suburban streets, for enthusiastic children and distracted adults. Their small theatres are finally stable, planted with their roots in the asphalt like the trees that try to shade them, inserted into the urban landscape like the buildings that mark the horizon, in an imagined time in which the domestic leaves a little room for the wild”.
Kòmos, the Dionysian procession from which the Comedy originated, is a disorderly group of inspirational Bacchae that crosses the scene, peeps into the world of humans and stops only by imprinting itself on the canvas.
Created for Patrizio Dall’Argine’s exhibition at the Museo del Burattino in Bergamo, this catalogue is a large folding poster to be unfolded by reassembling the works, shapes and colours in sequence.
