Museo del Burattino di Bergamo

«To welcome visitors, at the entrance to the Museo del Burattino in Bergamo, there is a large photograph in which the puppeteer Benedetto Ravasio, under the portico of Piazza Vecchia in Upper City with his wife Pina, is about to lift the almost fully assembled puppet theatre. In front of them, some curious and patient children are waiting for the magic to begin. A fascination that will never end as long as this ancient theatrical art is handed down».

It is a tradition, an art, a profound bond that unites a territory with its history and identities through concrete and handcrafted know-how. All this is present in the Museo del Burattino in Bergamo, of which this catalogue is the complete compendium. A large section of the book, edited by Luca Loglio, contains critical essays by scholars, critics and puppeteers, followed by images of all the puppets on display in the Museum.
