Rane’n’Roll Reloaded

“Rane’n’Roll Reloaded” is an act of love toward one of the emblematic records of the Italian independent rock and psychedelic scene. Originally released in 1988 by IRA Records and produced by Gianni Maroccolo, Rane’n’Roll marked the breakthrough of Joe Perrino & The Mellowtones, a band formed in Cagliari in the early 1980s that went on to become a key reference point for the national underground.

This Reloaded edition brings the album into the present with an expanded and fully reinterpreted version: each track is entrusted to a different artist, chosen for affinity, brotherhood and independent spirit. The result is a collective and contemporary project that engages in dialogue with history while speaking to new generations, going beyond mere celebration.

Among the contributors are Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Pierpaolo Capovilla, Giorgio Canali, Teho Teardo, Paolo Fresu, Iosonouncane, Hugo Race, and Gianni Maroccolo himself, along with many other central figures from the alternative scene. Also included is a new version of “Mi sento felice,” a track originally released in 1986 on the Sanremo Rock compilation.

The edition features a new graphic design that makes use of the complete original analog photographic series by Cesare Dagliana.
