It’s an itinerary dedicated to the protagonists of Bergamo sculpture that continues and closes the research on the first half of the twentieth century, published in 2010.
Promoted and supported by the Credito Bergamasco Foundation, it presents the investigation of art historian Marcella Cattaneo committed to restoring the complexity of Bergamo’s artistic sculpture scene from the immediate post-war period to 2000.
The study takes the form of critical reading, highlighting the personalities who have determined the founding moments and demonstrates how the courage to innovate the tradition is not improvised but is based on the firm intention to bet on the excellence of the territory of Bergamo.
Elia Ajolfi, Stefano Locatelli, Gianni Grimaldi and Ugo Riva are only some of the names of the authors treated, protagonists of an important season characterized by wide linguistic openings and by the consolidation of a territorial stylistic culture.
As in the first volume, a significant black and white photographic campaign accompanies the historical and bibliographical research.
