A special limited and numbered edition of Il Sonatore di Basso, created for the CSI In Viaggio tour and entirely dedicated to the repertoire of Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti.
The volume brings together 28 bass lines by Gianni Maroccolo, transcribed into sheet music and tablature by Mur Rouge, selected from the 104 included in the book Il Sonatore di Basso and enriched with several pieces previously available only in the limited Flight Case box set.
A selection designed to highlight the central role of the bass in the sound of CSI: never merely an accompaniment, but a supporting structure, a deep voice, a rhythmic and melodic thread capable of defining atmospheres, creating tension and pointing toward original directions.
This book is both a study tool and a musical document: a way to enter the heart of songs that marked an era, closely following the unmistakable pulse of Gianni Maroccolo. Dedicated to those who play, those who listen and those who wish to continue this journey.
Includes the previously unpublished text Memoria and the songs: A tratti, Blu, Bolormaa, Brace, Buon anno ragazzi, Celluloide, Cupe vampe, Del mondo, E ti vengo a cercare, Finistère, Forma e sostanza, Guardali negli occhi, In viaggio, Inquieto (live), Intimisto, Io e Tancredi, Irata, Linea gotica, M’importa ‘nasega, Matrilineare, Memorie di una testa tagliata, Noi non ci saremo, Occidente, Ongii, Sogni e sintomi, Tutti giù per terra, Unità di produzione, Vicini.
Gianni Maroccolo (born 1960) is a central figure in the history of Italian rock from 1980 to the present. Bassist with Litfiba, CCCP Fedeli alla Linea, CSI – Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti, PGR – Per Grazia Ricevuta, and as a solo artist, he is also a composer, arranger, educator, sound technician and manipulator, and artistic and record producer. An untiring builder of connections and a multifaceted interpreter of contemporary sound.
